Nach 1945 wurde in Ostpreußen die deutsche Bevölkerung vertrieben und die meisten Denkmäler abgerissen, beschädigt oder umgewidmet. Dies ist einer der ganz wenigen Orte, in dem noch Denkmal und Gedenktafeln aus deutscher Zeit unverändert erhalten sind. Die zwei Kriegsgräber befinden sich auf dem alten überwucherten evangelischen Friedhof. Der Verfasser konnte diesen nicht finden.
